We are very proud that our Gambian Director, Omar Jammeh, recently travelled to Nairobi, Kenya to represent Just Act at a youth summit organised by The Girl Generation, ((25th/26th April 2018) As for all travel across Africa it involved numerous flight changes and we thank Omar for undertaking this in representing us in this vital cause.
In 2107 Just Act sought and were successful in gaining a grant from The Girl Generation to provide community training and advocacy on FGM (Female Genital Mutilation) in four areas of Central River Region. The grant application was funded by Just Act Gambia. This was completed over a six month period and involved several members of Just Act. They should all be congratulated on their dedication to seeing this practice obliterated within a generation.
Report by Omar Jammeh
